Photographer Captured A Tiny Bird Uses A Flower Petal As Her Bathtub

Rahul Singh knows what he's doing when it comes to nature photography. Singh has recorded some of nature's most spectacular moments, from a little bird using a flower petal as a bathtub to a beautiful egret caught mid-landing and a group of charming monkeys sitting in a tree. Take a look at some of his incredible photographs below the jump.

This was the turning point in his life.

“I went to a location with bushes of these decorative bananas to photograph sunbirds sipping nectar from them.”

“Everything was going as normal when, all of a sudden, the crimson sunbird began bathing in the water contained in a banana blossom petal.”

The flower you see here is the banana blossom and one of its petals has gathered morning dew, transforming it into a miniature bathtub.

When the little bird noticed the petal tub, she decided to make use of it. Dipping in the petal tub had to be very relaxing! After all, the nectar had just filled it.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Rahul. That was the first time he had ever seen anything like that. We hadn't either!

“I was so taken aback by this odd activity that I continued pressing the shutter button on my camera as the bird bathed.”

The photos were then uploaded to Rahul's Instagram account. “This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Rahul said. “It never ceases to amaze me how nature can amaze us.”
