There are
different kinds of owls all around the world. Namely, the well-known cute barn
owl, snowy white owl, and horned owl can be known as the most popular ones.
Among them, the barn owls can be possibly the prettiest and the most common
type of owl. But today's article isn't about any ordinary barn owl.
Today
let's talk about an owl that is rarely to be found.
You have
probably heard about and seen animals and people with the gene mutation,
albinism. Which makes them have very light skin. But these owls have the
opposite mutation which causes them to have very dark skin. Due to this
condition, most of these owls get killed by their own mothers when they are
chicks.
Even if
these black owls survive as chicks once they are let out into the wild they,
unfortunately, get mobbed and killed by other owls.
The black
barn owls are extremely rare and it's 1 of 100 000 possibilities to spot one.
And the fact that owls hunt at night makes them even rare to be seen. In the UK
only three black owls are known to be found and one of them is owned by Ms.
Manarin.
She
stated that the black owl is relatively smaller than the other barn owls but
unfortunately they have slight problems with their hearing. Luckily pictures of
this very beautiful owl has being captured.
