Here’s an

flying squirrels are known to travel more than 100m to escape from a predator,
can we conclude that they fly? Not at all. We see them fly due to the presence
of the membranes in between their front and hind legs. These special membranes
allow them to glide to a very long distance.
One of
the best kinds of Old World Flying Squirrels is the cute and plumpy Japanese
and Siberian Flying squirrels. They are only found in the Baltic and Pacific
coastal areas in Europe and Japan. They do appear as cute cotton balls and
these white, cute squirrels do not hibernate during the winter season. Instead
they sleep for days on end!
