This is
about the little Tatu, the newborn 18-pound lion cub at the Denver Zoo. The zoo
shared a BTS scene of the very first encounter of the father lion and cub and
their reactions at each other were adorable!
Nelia,
the mom and Tatu, the cub were allowed to see other members of their pride
(Tobias - The dad, Kamara - The sister and Sabi - The aunt) only through the
mesh for a long time. And of course the grown ups were obsessed to see the cute
lion cub through that.
You'd see
the lion cub playing around the enclosure while the majestic father was
focusing on him in the video at the end. This moment is indeed heart-warming.
The most interesting interaction between both was the way Tobias crouched to
reach his son.

The zoo
officials once said “This little lion is so talented that it climbed up ranks
when it was 12 lbs. He seems to love climbing."
Jake
Kubié, a zoo representative, the director of communications said that Tatu the
cub was spending the last two months together with his father, mother and
half-sister and will soon be ready to make his big public debut in near future.
He also said that Tatu will be that one lion that all expect: curious,
energetic as well as playful!

Since the
release of Disney's "The Lion King," there has been a drop in the African
lion population by 50%.
“These
lions would definitely teach us what happens to the lions in the wild. They
reject doing more and learning more once people start caring for them,"
said Hollie Colahan, Vice President for Animal Care at the zoo.
Hollie's
main intention is to make people aware of preserving the lion population with
the birth of the boy cub, Tafu.

This heart-warming
video of the zoo was from a series of “cubdates”
that were posted in order to give people an idea about the latest lion cubs at
the zoo. Everyone were extremely excited and delighted to visit the public
debut. The zoo usually gets a hub of “Oohs” and “Ahhs.” whenever they post
something about the lions.

"All
of us should remember that around half of the African lion population has
vanished during the last 25 years due to loss of prey, poaching and loss of
habitats. We present our lion cub as an inspiration for people to help protect
wild counterparts as well as other wildlife in the world.”

The
Denver Zoo operates a lot of conservation programmes in other countries too.
Their projects not only encourage people to help but also ask people to
volunteer in their programmes. One such program is “Adopt an Animal” in which
you need to “adopt” one of the 4,300 animals at the zoo. There, in that you
won't get the live animal home, but instead a plush version of the selected
animal.
