Do bees
sleep? Have you ever asked yourself this question?
I knew
that they needed sleep. But I never had an idea on how they’d do it. Now that
I’ve found one, let me share it with you through this article!
The
amazing nature photographer Joe
Neely once witnessed a couple of globe mallow bees napping in a colorful
globe mallow flower. The two bees have been snuggling together in the middle of
the orange-crimson bloom. To Joe's surprise, this couple was not the one and
only sleeping out there. There had been some more flowers with occupants. If
so, why did Joe especially capture this particular couple? Indeed it’s because
of their beautiful composition when holding hands while sleeping.
Neely
soon realized that it was the perfect chance for him and managed to get his
macro photography equipment in order to capture the sweet scene. “Though we
hear about some species who retire to the hive, these species are often seen
sleeping on flower beds,” said Neely.
These are
the adorable pictures of the two sleeping bees.

“I’m a
simple photographer who struggles a lot to capture wildlife from a different
point of view. The National Geographic magazines made me interested in becoming
a wildlife photographer since childhood and by now I’ve become a person who
observes wildlife and capture them to give out extraordinary scenes from their
everyday lives.”

“Both me
and my wife were out in the field in search of Mexican poppies when we came
across an alluring grove of flowers. Niccole, my wife (she too is an avid
nature photographer) by chance noticed some small bees inside an orange globe
mallow when she was looking for the best flower to capture. I hurried at her to
see the amazing incident and even joked saying that they're too much pollen drunk.
They stayed motionless for a long time as if to suggest that they are gonna
sleep."

“Then we
found one small bee that was trying to find his flower bed for the night sleep.
Suddenly, he crawled into the petals with another single bee who gave him some
space to sleep. I was overwhelmed with this incident and it made me take a few
snaps of the scene using my macro equipment. The color of the flowers and blue
eyes of the bees were perfectly blended. However, by the end of that day these
bees who napped inside flowers made me more curious about finding them!"
One of
Neely's shots was turned into a meme shortly.
