Is
there anyone who thinks that dogs or other animals aren't conscious at all? I
bet you'd get out of that typical thought once you've finished reading this.
Here comes a story of two dogs (long-lost siblings) getting reunited during a
walk on the street.
These
two are Cockapoo siblings from the same mother, but who have not seen each
other in months. To the surprise of the owners both the puppies immediately
recognized each other with huge hugs during an accidental meet-up when walking
on the street.

The
dogs named Rosie and Monty were born in the same litter in June last year. As
per Susan Killip, Rosie's owner, there had been six puppies altogether.
The
photos of the puppy meet-up were shared by the Twitter user, Libby Pincher. The
incident happened when her dad's business partner, Dave, was out for a walk
with his one-year-old Cockapoo Monty in Aycliffe, County Durham. The man
spotted a dog with the same look walking with its owner and in no time the two
dogs wrapped their paws around each other. The chat between the owners afterwards
has made them realize that these two dogs are of the same litter who were
adopted by different families.
Libby's
dad described the cute meet-up as follows:
“So,
Dave was out walking his dog, and there was a couple walking towards him with a
white version of his dog. Turns out they are brother and sister from the same
litter. But instead of just playing like they do with other dogs, look at
this.”

Killip’s
(Rosie's owner) friends, who lived in a nearby village, had adopted Monty at
the beginning.
“It
was so adorable to see how the happy dogs jumped and hugged each other.
Realizing each other even after 10 months is a surprising fact for me!"
Kilip
said, “The incident happened when I was out walking with my husband Lee and
Rosie on the street. We were glad that these cute dogs remembered each other
for a long time. The scene was eye-candy for those who were around. I was
obsessed with the scene and took some pictures of them and sent them to Jean.
Jean said that David had sent the pictures to one of his friends whose daughter
posted them on Twitter the next day. The pictures went crazy afterwards. However, the two dogs were always together
when they were young. They have been each other's dog friend forever."

Susan
Killip explained how they decided to adopt Rosie, "2 years before the
adoption of Rosie, we had a Toy Poodle named Lucy. Her loss made us so worried
that we went on walks, sometimes even carrying her ashes in our pockets. I hope
everyone understands how much we loved her and missed her. With the loss of our
Lucy we gave priority to our long lasting expectation of adopting a Cockapoo.
Therefore, I called my friend who already had a Cockapoo who gave me the
details of the breeder of her dog who informed us that Rosie's mommy Millie was
due a litter late June 2019.”
“The
litter was born on 30th June at Bishop Middleham. There had been 6 puppies
including Monty and Rosie. As I mentioned earlier, Rosie and Monty were always
together. We chose Rosie especially because she was the most quiet pup in the
litter. By the way, Jean, my friend, also wanted a puppy at that time.
Therefore she adopted Monty at the same time. Jean, at the beginning, had to
take care of both Rosie and Monty as we were on a holiday. But, both the
puppies have never met each other after we picked up Rosie from Jean's place.
Though we often text each other, we rarely see each other as Jean and David
live in the next village.”

Now,
don't you wonder if Monty and Rosie would meet each other ever again? Here's
great news for you! "Hopefully, we'd definitely make them meet once we are
permitted to meet each other again. We've planned to celebrate Monty's and
Rosie's 1-year birthday together."

Hope
you're convinced that the pups definitely remember their littermates.
As
per the Tufts University, Dogs of the same breed are always attracted towards
each other. On the other hand the scent of another dog remains within a dog for
a long time. But, we never know whether a dog knows if it is a familial
connection or not.
