The
recent pandemic outbreak made us reevaluate the lives and the people around us.
Most of us realized the value of human comfort which has made us find different
ways to have wholesome social relationships. But, are we the one and only ones
who seek comfort in each other's arms during the most difficult times in life?
Tobias Baumgaertner
captured a rare and touching moment of two penguins passing the most difficult
times of their lives in St Kilda, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, in 2019.

The
photo showed two widowed penguins cuddling together while staring at the
skyline of Melbourne. The particular picture provoked emotional responses from
many people around the world.
The
photographer wrote about the picture of two penguins comforting each other as
follows:
“Only
the truly lucky ones can be with the person they love the most in emotional
moments like this. This is a picture that I took around 1 year ago. These two
fairy penguins stood upon a rock for hours watching the sparkling lights of the
skyline and the ocean. A volunteer who reached me explained that the white one
was the elderly lady who had lost her partner while the other one was a younger
male who had experienced the same. They've met each other regularly since the
loss of their partners. By the way, I had to spend 3 full nights with this
specific penguin colony to get this picture. It was really hard for me to get
the picture between not being able to use lights and the continuous movements
of little penguins. But, my luck let me give you the same experience as I had.”
He
added, “The way how the two lovebirds care for one another stood out from the
entire penguin colony. This very cute penguin couple held each other's flippers
every night while talking about penguin stuff. I guess that their pain has
brought them together. Sometimes we find love when we least expect it and it's
indeed a privilege to meet someone who truly holds our back and loves us as
much as we do!"
Here's
how the commentators felt when they saw the really cute penguins.
