Barbara
Peacock is famous for capturing people and their bedrooms traveling all around
the USA.
But
why? Why does she travel to capture bedrooms? What's the purpose behind it? Her
main objective is to show the different lifestyles of people.
As
we all know, the bedroom is probably the most personal and intimate space where
a person can be the truest version of him/herself. Bedroom is the place where
we relax, where we get ourselves isolated from the outside world. Ultimately,
it is the spot where we start and end our day. Perhaps, that's the reason why
we need to have a glimpse of other people's bedrooms. It helps us to get to
know their true personality.
Photographer
Barbara Peacock traverses the USA to shoot personal and anthropological
photographs of typical Americans in their bedrooms because she is fascinated by
and passionate about the "poetic resonance of commonplace subjects."
These images are a part of the "American Bedroom" project, which
exhibits the wide range of habitations and lifestyles that make up the American
experience.

Camille, Age 32 And Ashley, Age 31
Camille:
"People have this notion that dreams are for the young, but I'm in my
third decade, and only now have my biggest ambitions started to come true. It's
as if I've now given myself the go-ahead to pursue anything openly, from what
my ideal family looks like to the music I want to broadcast to the world. Every
day, the world is becoming more accessible to me."
Ashley:
"I would have shed happy tears if you had told me five years ago that I
would be a traveling musician, married to my wonderful and gorgeous wife, and
