Vyacheslav
Mishchenko is an amazing photographer who is in love with macro photography.
Vyacheslav Mishchenko started his career of shooting nature at a very young age
and now produces a variety of his very own grand creations of macro
photographs.
The
main tools behind the success of his photos are excellent timing and patience
along with ample light. However the pictures that you are about to explore in
this article would amaze you and make you appreciate his genre of photography and
his undying love for nature.
Following
is a brief interview with the photographer.
Few words about you?
I'm
from a small town in Ukraine called Berdychev. The very first macro shot by
me was taken when I was only 10 years old. I used an analog camera for
photography at that time.
With
time, I got married and had to be responsible about my 2 kids which made me
deviate from the field of photography. I spent most of my time painting.
Fortunately, my passion for photography renewed with the advent of digital
photography. I started over enthusiastically and seriously right after I was
presented a camera by one of my friends from the US.
How did photography happen to you?
As
mentioned earlier, I have been interested in photography since childhood. I
used to observe my father's art and learn from it as he was a freelance
photographer for local newspapers. Therefore, my family spent a number of
weekends camping in forests where the natural beauty was at its max. And that's
how photography and nature entered my life.
Your gear?
I
use FUJIFILM FinePix S200EXR and NIKON D7000, AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G
Lens.
Your Inspiration?
I'm
usually inspired by paintings. One of my most favorite paintings is Claude
Monet's “Lady with umbrella” which inspired me to a series of photos “Snail
with an umbrella.”
In
addition, the classical music that accompanies me in my life too enhances my creativity
and imagination.
And
especially, the main inspiration in my life are my wife, children and my father
who always instill a sense of beauty in me.
What makes macro photography so special
for you?
Macro
photography is a field that allows us to see what we can't see in our ordinary
life. How many of us observe the world of insects and flowers? There are many
objects and stories for macro photography. There's an enormous scope for it.
More importantly it helps us see the world in new ways. I truly love revealing
the hidden beauty. I think that I can teach about insects to the world through
my work.
Is patience important in your genre of
photography, how long would you have to wait for your best shot?
I
try my best to shoot all insects in their natural habitats. Therefore, none of
the stories that you see are not constructed by me by force. Only thing that
matters is my 'luck'. I have to be at the right place at the right time.
The
longest session that I've experienced, lasted for a couple of hours. I had to
lay in a swamp for 2 hours and had to remove 15 mites from my body. But still,
I got the right shot.
Your future goals and ambition?
My
one and only goal is to reveal the beauty of nature and its elements to the
world.
What does it take to produce a good
photograph according to you?
As
per myself, it is to develop the taste of art, romance and finally to love
nature.
