Recent
sightings of Kate Middleton with her family have sparked speculation about when
the princess will resume her official engagements.
Sources
informed Vanity Fair that reports suggesting Princess Kate won't return to work
until next year are inaccurate. While the Daily Mail speculated she might
resume her duties this autumn, an official return date has not been set.
According
to sources, Kate is prioritizing her recovery and is not rushing to return to
work. A well-placed insider stated, "There is no timeline, and certainly
no hurry. She will return when she feels ready and receives the green light
from her medical team. However, there is no doubt she will be coming back to
work."
While
she has paused all professional duties, Kate has been kept informed about the
landmark report published last week by the Royal Foundation Centre for Early
Childhood and its related business task force. An aide previously mentioned
that she had read the report and received briefings on it. However, a
Kensington Palace spokesman emphasized that this should not be seen as her
returning to work.
A
senior royal aide told the Daily Mail: "The Princess of Wales played a key
role in establishing the business task force. She has been kept informed from
the start, has reviewed the report, and received updates on its progress."
"This
demonstrates her dedication to making this a central focus throughout her
public service career, which will resume when she returns to work."
"However,
it is essential for her to have the time and privacy to recover. She will
resume her duties once her doctors give their approval."
Princess
Kate has not made a public appearance since Christmas Day. Her extended absence
is one reason she chose to announce her cancer diagnosis through a video
message. Insiders reveal that Kate wanted to reassure people that she was doing
well.
Insiders
have informed VF that the princess, currently undergoing preventative
chemotherapy, has shown significant improvement in recent weeks and is feeling
much better.
A
family friend shared, "It's a huge relief that she is responding well to
the medication and is improving significantly. It's been a challenging and
worrisome period, but everyone has come together to support her—William, her
parents, and her siblings."
Prince
William has been managing several official engagements while Kate has been
recuperating at home. Additionally, he has been keeping their three
children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—entertained. Last
weekend, William and George attended the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium
together.
This week, the children are on half-term break, and the family is reportedly at their countryside retreat, Anmer Hall, where they are also planning to spend the summer holidays.
